Northern Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu has accused President John Mahama of side-lining Konkombas in his administration.

According to him, Konkombas massively voted for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the 2012 general elections but they have subsequently been rejected in President Mahama’s cabinet.

[contextly_sidebar id=”5ZeWyw6VYLCm4PrABDP9IYEzXlSVWiqP”]The NPP firebrand was addressing the 2014 Linujil (Yam Festival) celebrated by the chiefs and people of Bunbong-Naayili in the Yendi Municipality.

Daniel Bugri Naabu urged his kinsmen to show the NDC the “red card” in 2016 and vote for the NPP.

He recalled former President Kufour’s appointment of Charles Bintim as Local Government and Rural Development minister to justify his claim that the NPP adored Konkombas than the NDC.

But the Member of Parliament for Gushiegu, Hon. Thomas Nassah has expressed strong reservations about Mr. Naabu’s comments.

Hon. Thomas Nassah advised Daniel Bugri Naabu “to stop fanning tribal politics and encourage his kinsmen (Konkombas) to struggle through school to become responsible citizens.”

The Gushiegu MP also reminded Daniel Bugri Naabu of President Mahama’s recent appointment of former Northern Regional Minister, Moses Bukari Mabengba (a Konkomba) as an Ambassador.
