The Police in Ho in the Volta Region have intensified security following a violent protest by the youth in the region.

[contextly_sidebar id=”qIPN0Uz5DpbYOreyMjfTFQq5qO10HOYh”]The protest was against  the arrival of the supposed new paramount chief of Aflao Traditional Area, Togbui Afla

The Police warned the Torgbui Detu against entering the town after security intelligence revealed his actions could spark violence but he defied the order and entered the town without permission.

He was however arrested together with five other people upon his arrival in the town.

Torgbui Detu is currently in police custody and is expected to reappear before a High Court in Ho tomorrow.

Speaking to Citi News, the regional police commander, DCOP Peterking Gyenae said the security forces won’t be withdrawn until the court determines the fate of Togbui Detu.

“Until we appear before Court tomorrow and settle the case, we don’t withdraw the security agencies, ”he insisted.
