The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoayiri, Kwaku Annoh Dompreh has told Citi News his petition to the president for the impeachment of  the Commissioner of Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice(CHRAJ) Madam Lauretta Vivian Lamptey has finally been received by the presidency.

A Deputy Communications Minister, Ato Sarpong, earlier, told Citi News, the petition from the MP could not be located at the Presidency.

According to him, since he [Sarpong] heard the news in the media, he personally checked if the petition had been submitted at the Flagstaff House but the petition was nowhere to be found.

This announcement ruffled the law maker who followed up on Friday at the presidency to ensure the petition is properly delivered to the appropriate quarters.

Speaking to Citi News,  on Friday, the MP said; “when I heard that, the petition hasn’t been received by Government, I was equally worried…so early this morning [Friday] I was at the presidency again. The petition went through a lady called Doris and she forwarded it to Nartey at the presidency. So Nartey has confirmed that the petition has been received.”

The CHRAJ Commissioner, Ms Lamptey, has for the past two weeks been in the news for wasting public funds on a rented apartment at the AU Village at a cost of $180,000 and ordering extensive renovation works on her official bungalow.

Various groups and individuals  are calling for her removal because they believe the action by Madam Lauretta Vivian Lamptey, has brought the image of the Commission into disrepute.
