Reports available to citifmoline.com has it that the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has picked up the Head of Treasury at the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) for questioning.

Sources at CHRAJ confirmed that Sonny Eric Adinyira, was picked up by the BNI earlier on Thursday to quiz him over some financial issues brewing up at the Commission.

It is however unclear whether the action is linked to recent accommodation scandal involving the CHRAJ Commissioner, Lauretta Vivian Lamptey.

[contextly_sidebar id=”xnWfcC7SB871efZx2D5n2MI5AYmPvjh0″]The Auditor General’s Department is currently auditing the finances of the Commission following the payment of about $180,000 on rent by Ms Lamptey which has generated calls for her impeachment.

The government in a statement endorsed the ongoing exercise by the Auditor General adding that it expects the Auditor-General to complete its audit within the shortest possible time, cautioning heads of the various Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs) and heads of institutions that rely on public funds that they will be held accountable for any misapplication and inappropriate use of public funds, as well as any infringements of the Financial Administration Rules.”

Various bodies and individuals have called for the removal of Ms Lauretta Vivian Lamptey.

The Member of Parliament for Nsawam/ Adoagyiri Constituency, Frank Annoh-Dompreh has also begun an official process to have her impeached.
