Reports reaching Citi News indicate that tension is building up at Aflao in the Ketu South District in the Volta Region following reports of an attempt to outdoor a new divisional chief in the area.

According to the reports, some of the traditional heads have secretly enstooled Torgbui Awunor Adedatu Afla in a manner that has heightened the communal temperature in the area.

It is however unclear whether Torgbui Amenya Adzonugaga Fiti V is still the Traditional head of the Aflao Traditional Area since Torgbui Afla is supposed to be outdoored on Thursday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”kPG3KOkHn2NthCh8W5qCyRI8vjvIRFFx”]According to the report, Torgbui Fiti is threatening to prevent such programme from coming on.

Speaking on the Eye Witness News on Wednesday, Torgbui Bonehu, acting War Lord of the Anglo State, affirmed that Torgbui Awunor Adedatu Afla has been legitimately and lawfully installed and outdoored as the traditional Chief for the Aflao Traditional Area.

He also added that Torgbui Afla is the ninth occupant of the stool.

He said Torgbui Afla only wanted to visit the area on Thursday because he has not been there ever since he was enstooled.

Torgbui Bonehu said a court had banned Torgbui Afla from visiting the area hence the delay in his visit saying, “He only want to go to his hometown. He is a native of Aflao.”

“Torgbui Fiti is threatening mayhem but Torgbui Afla is only asking for police protection to go to his hometown. I don’t know what the police are up to. They came again today with an injunction. His life is being threatened by Fiti so he is willing to go home.”

Spokesperson for Torgbui Fiti, Petit Haliga also speaking on the same programme indicated that “Torgbui Fiti is not issuing any threats.”

He asked, “How can a citizen of a different traditional area be installed and outdoored in a different traditional area. If he is really a citizen of Aflao Traditional Area and he owes allegiance to a stool, why is it that he was confined, installed and outdoored in a different traditional area.”

Petit Haliga said Aflo Traditional Area has its own paramount chief in the person of Torgbui Fiti and whatever happens in that area must come to his notice.

“There shouldn’t be any chief that should be smuggled into his traditional area without his knowledge, thats all Torgbui Fiti is saying. He is not preaching anything different from that,” he said.
