Hearing of a case brought before a Kumasi court restraining the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from holding its elections in the Ashanti Region has been scheduled for September 26.
An aggrieved member of the party, Njonolah Linus dragged the NDC and its executives to court for allegedly overstaying their mandated tenure of office.
According to him, the executives were using their authority to disqualify interested party members of the NDC from taking part in the impending elections.

The Kumasi Court had earlier ordered the national executives of the party to hold on with the national elections and that of Ashanti Region for a 10-day period.
Similar court injunctions have prevented the NDC constituency elections in other regions especially in Greater Accra.
The party’s General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia has however directed party executives in the various regions to ensure that all such grievances are resolved as soon as possible.
