One of the New Patriotic Party (NPP’s) presidential aspirants, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has begun his grass-root based campaign tour in the Northern Region after launching his campaign in Accra about a week ago.

Mr. Kyerematen is expected to meet polling station, electoral area coordinators, constituency and regional officers across the country to deliver his message of hope targeted at strengthening the grass-root.

His 6-day tour of the three Northern Regions of Ghana begins today, Monday September 22 at Damango. He will also be in Wa in the Upper West Region where he will hold mini-rallies to engage party delegates.

[contextly_sidebar id=”ySQxROBgvxo7Ra3ZOdHDe6J5mDeMikum”]He is also expected to make some stops at the Bole, Sawla and Wuchaw constituencies.

Mr. Kyerematen is expected to complete his 6-day Northern tour on Saturday.

Alan Kyeremanten will be competing with Nana Akufo-Addo and Francis Addai-Nimo in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries on October 18.

Joe Ghartey and Osei Ameyaw who also made it into the top five list in the party’s Super Delegates Congress have openly declared their support for Nana Addo after stepping down from the race.

Earlier, Alan Kyeremanten and Francis Addai-Nimo petitioned the leadership of the NPP to re-schedule the date of the presidential primaries, to enable them reach out to the over 140,000 delegates across the country.

It is however unclear whether the party will adhere to the plea of the presidential aspirants after an initial meeting over the matter.

Various party members including the Minority Leader in Parliament Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Special Aide to NPP’s General Secretary, Iddrisu Musah Superior have thrown their weight behind Nana Addo.

The Regional and Constituency Youth Organizers of the NPP in the Upper East Region as well as the Greater Accra Constituency have also declared their support for Nana Addo.

Alan Kyeremanten in response said he is not perturbed by the increasing endorsements for his opponent.
