The council chairman of University Of Health And Allied Sciences Professor Kofi Anyidoho is unhappy about construction firm Ussuya Ghana, abandoning road projects on the University of Health and Allied Sciences campus in the Volta Region.
Professor Anyidoho said the situation has rendered the university inaccessible as it prepares to commence academic work in March 2015.
Delays by Ussuya Ghana to commence works on the access roads of the university campus in Sokode is by extension hampering works of their Chinese counterpart Yanjian Group who are unable to transport materials to the site.
He said Yanjian Group are working on the lecture halls, auditorium, multi-purpose science laboratory, administration block and residential facilities for both staff and students, Ussuya on the other hand is yet to commence work on the road networks.

Adding that ‘’It may look like a big promise they may not be able to fulfill but if you can understand, they started work on that site less than a year ago and you have seen what is there; you can see the likelihood that in six months they may able to hand over the place’’.
But said ‘’our real challenge now, they may be many; as you can see there are no roads, contracts for the roads was awarded and according to that contract the road should have been done by this time but as you can see they have not even started.’’
“So those buildings may be completed by March, but how do we bring students here without a road network?” he quizzed.
This came to light when the Minister for Education Prof Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang inaugurated a thirteen member council for the university in Ho. The council which is the governing body of the university according to the Minister would take over from the implementation committee that operated from the Presidency.
Other members of the council include Mrs Justice Agnes Dordzie, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV,Prof Ernest Aryeetey, Dr Yaw Adu-Gyamfi,Dr Sodzi Sodzi-Tettey and Prof Fred Binka.
The rest are Mr Paul Dzandu, Mr Dzidzeme Sedanu-Kwawu, Emmanuel Adjei, Mr Kwabena Sakyi, Dr Francis Zotor and Mr Daniel Sarfo.
