TRACE TV and Airtel will soon be presenting a unique mobile song competition. It’s the first song contest of its kind in Ghana where contestants can win simply by calling in a short code number. There is even an option to rehearse on a phone karaoke that scores the performance. Without having to stand in big long queues, all that participants have to do is Call, Sing and Win a chance to become the next big music star in Ghana and possibly across Africa and the world.

Airtel has collaborated with Trace TV because it is a globally recognized brand that gives the seal of recognition to many international artists. Airtel Trace Stars is an opportunity to develop the African music industry by creating a platform for the exposure of African music and musicians to the rest of the world. It is also an opportunity for Airtel to connect and communicate with their customers globally.

This maiden edition promises to be even bigger and is set to start soon and has had many talking about it. Artists and amateur music enthusiasts have the opportunity for their three minutes of fame by singing into the dialed IVR number and recording their song.

Donald Gwira, Head of Corporate Affairs, explained, ‘Music is the passion of Africa and it speaks to everyone. We also want to empower our customers with this campaign – we want to see creativity, excitement and passion exhibited in the songs submitted. The winning entry will embody Africa’s passion for music.’

There will be many surprises along the way! To find out more stay connected on Airtel Ghana’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.
