The Member of Parliament for the Tolon Constituency, Wahab Wumbei Suhiyini  has called on the Ministry of Education to help  rebuild the schools that were destroyed by the rainstorms in the area.

Severe rainstorms in the Tolon District have left most farmlands flooded and also collapsed most of the traditional mud homes in the area.

The storm also displaced some basic school pupils in the District since some roofs of their classrooms have been ripped off.

Speaking to Citi News Member of Parliament of Tolon Constituency Wahab Wumbei Suhiyini said the Ministry of Education had promised to refurbish the schools soon.

[contextly_sidebar id=”gPMNlTYb4MoVOwzscaoWJF9r6QNjqOhu”]He said: “what I had to do was I wrote to the minister of education through the Director of Education for Tolon District. And just two days ago I got a letter from the Ministers office indicating that those schools were packaged under emergency projects.”

He further added that he has forwarded the letters to the district director and the DCE and very soon work will commence on those schools so that the children will be able to attend classes.

The legislator also appealed to philanthropists and benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the schools.
