The People’s National Convention (PNC) will elect its national executives in June 2015, Chairman of the party Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan has disclosed.

The congress will be preceded by its constituency and regional elections between January and February.

Speaking to Citi News the National Chairman of the party Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan said a committee has been set up to oversee a successful running of the process.

“We had our national executive meeting and we’ve agreed that we must have congress early next year. And by early we are looking at June next year but we are planning that from January, Febraury we will work hard to finish with constituency elections and by March April we will target the regional executives. Then may June we will head towards the national congress, this is our schedule. We have set a small committee to look into this viability and all other things that we need to put in place in order to remain on track,” he stated.

He added that the party has ample time to prepare adequately ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

“One and half years to campaign is a long time enough and I don’t think anybody has any extra advantage over us,”he added.

In a related development, constituency elections within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been characterised with a number of court injunction restraining the party from holding elections in some constituencies in the Greater Accra and the Volta Regions.
