The former Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Hilda Addo has blamed two-time presidential aspirant Nana Akufo-Addo for the New Patriotic Party (NPP’s) inability to win power.

Speaking to Citi News on the sidelines of Alan Kyeremanten’s campaign launch at Abeka Lapaz in Accra, she said the NPP can only win power in 2016 if a new person is selected to lead the party.

[contextly_sidebar id=”JzRdM7Mzi6I2AbzAevRgecSJ2Nr359jk”]“…the fortunes of NPP are at stake. Why don’t we change the candidates. Nana believes in change that was why he changed Mac Manu when things didn’t go well, that was why he didn’t support Jake Obetsebi (former national chairman of NPP) when things didn’t go well. Nana believes in change except may be changing himself”

“We are saying that he is an elderly person in our party, we love him so much, we respect him so much… but we are saying that floating voters have rejected NPP and Nana on all those three occasions.”

She also suggested that Alan Kyeremanten should select his running mate from  Nana Addo’s camp if he is given the nod to lead the party.

Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng has promised a first round victory for the party in the 2016 general elections should he be elected the flagbearer.

“I want you to understand that the decision that you are about to take will affect the results in the future so think about how we can win the general elections. If you vote for Alan Kyeremanteng, I will lead the party to win the 2016 elections one touch”

He also assured of a massive transformation of the party,”vote for me and Ghana in the next 3-5 years will see a change in our party and even in Africa.”

The NPP would be holding its National Delegates’ Congress on October 18 to elect a new flagbearer to lead the party in the 2016 general elections.
