Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku has in a statement indicated that he has accepted the results of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) super delegates’ congress which took place last Sunday.

The congress was to reduce the number of flagbearer hopefuls from seven to five as stipulated in the party’s constitution.

One of the candidates who made it onto the top five list, Joe Ghartey has pulled out of the competition meaning, only four candidates will contest the flagbeaership slot of the party on October 18.

Dr. Apraku in his statement wished Nana Akufo-Addo, the candidate who polled the highest number of votes well luck and prayed for God’s guidance as he embarks on the next phase of his campaign.

Below is the full statement from Dr. Apraku

I have accepted the results of the special Electoral College elections held on Aug. 31st 2014. I wish to thank all those who supported me during the campaign period and on the day of the elections.

I have called and congratulated my colleague and friend, Nana Akufo-Addo for his overwhelming victory. I wish him good luck and may God guide him as he embarks on the next phase of the campaign.

…Signed…

Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku
