Government has released an amount of GHC 2, 116, 322 for the payment of compensation to beneficiaries whose crops, buildings and structures were affected by the construction of transmission lines under the Bui Hydroelectric project in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The Land Evaluation Division of the Lands Commission will from Monday, begin the disbursement of the money to 885 beneficiaries who spread across 41 communities in the area.
A statement signed by the External Community Relations Manager of the Bui Power Authority, Wumbilla Salifu stated that “this is another batch of compensation to be paid under the project as the first was successfully carried out in April 2012.”
