In the run-up to the New Patriotic Party (NPP’s) special congress slated for Sunday August 31, 2014, endorsement of Nana Akufo Addo has become an established convention in the party.

Latest to join the bandwagon is pro NPP pressure group, Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG).

AFAG is noted for its incessant pressure on the Mahama led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government on many issues such as the famous Woyome judgement debt, GYEEDA, Subah Info Solutions and the sale of Merchant Bank.

The group’s President, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie in an exclusive interview with Citi News from London announced AFAG’s open endorsement of Nana Akufo Addo’s bid to lead the party in 2016.

He claimed NPP delegates will do the nation a great disservice if they make any attempt to replace Nana Akufo Addo as the party’s flag bearer for the 2016 general elections.

He posited that Ghana needed an incorruptible and decisive leader like Nana Akufo Addo to stabilize the nation’s ailing economy.

Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie described Nana Addo as a time tested politician who has solutions to Ghana’s teething socio-economic challenges.

He called on all NPP youth in Ghana and in the Diaspora to rally their support behind Nana Akufo Addo to brighten their future when elected President in 2016.

Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie called for unity in the NPP for a resounding victory in 2016.
