The Bawku Police are working to restore calm in the Bawku Municipality after the recent clashes.

Residents in Bawku have been living in fear after two shooting incidents which occurred last week. Business activities have reportedly come to a halt in the area.

But the police say they are working to ensure social and commercial activities return to normal in the town which shares border with Togo and Burkina Faso.

The Bawku Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Lovelace Tefutor told Citi News they have also increased their visibility in the area to respond quickly to emergency cases.

The move, according to the commander, will pave way for crime perpetrators in the area to be arrested.

“When we hear any gunshot we can just locate the area, search and pick the weapons,” he added.
