The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) will be holding its biennial Commonwealth Business Forum in April 2018.

The event will convene 800 senior business leaders at “three iconic Central London venues,” according to a statement from the council.

About 30 Heads of Government are expected at the forum, whiles President Nana Akufo-Addo has also been invited.

President Akufo-Addo met with the Chairman of the Council, Lord Marland of Odstock in 2017 where he was invited to the forum to give an address.

CWEIC has also described Ghana as one of the council’s key partners and a priority nation.

“Ghana has a positive story to tell and is an example to the wider commonwealth on governance, trade and inward investment. Ghana is a priority country and we are keen to engage with business leaders and ensure that they are properly represented through the commonwealth,” the Chief Executive of CWEIC, Richard Burge said.

About CWEIC

CWEIC was established in July 2014 with the support of the Commonwealth Secretariat and member Governments to be the Commonwealth’s apex business organisation.

It is a not for profit membership organisation with a mandate from Commonwealth Heads of Government to promote intra Commonwealth trade, investment and the role of the private sector across the 52 member countries.

CWEIC has a secretariat based at Marlborough House in Westminster and Guildhall in the City of London.

It is responsible for organising the Commonwealth Business Forum alongside the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and Commonwealth Trade Ministers Meeting in alternating years.

The council also runs a number events each year to provide its members with networking opportunities, access to leading Commonwealth figures from the worlds of government and business, and the chance to shape the Commonwealth’s business policies and agenda.
