A member of the New Patriotic Party(NPP),  Kofi Dotse Appiatu-Ampaw has warned Ghana could “burn” should the National Democratic Congress (NDC) attempt to rig the 2016 general elections.

The former Parliamentary aspirant said this after some angry youth stormed the party’s headquarters wielding machetes and knives to disrupt an ongoing press conference.

The angry mob clashed with the security men on the premises as they fought and vandalized vehicles on the compound.

Speaking to Citi FM’s Richard Dela Sky at the NPP headquarters on Tuesday, Mr Appiatu-Ampaw insisted;  “ there is a very deep seated anger boiling amongst them and that anger I’m telling you that the full venom of it is going to be seen in 2016”

“All that you are seeing here is a little bit of demonstration. I’m telling you 2016 let any word get out that somebody has tried to rig an election, I’m telling you if we are not careful we are going to burn this country.”
