Three teachers of Gomoa Adam/Kyiren Cluster of Schools have expressed their appreciation to Mr Sampson Kwamena Essel, a businessman, for providing them with free accommodation at Gomoa-Kyiren.

They are Nii Akrong Adjetey, Mr Martin Tawiah and Mr Abraham Korney.

According to the teachers, the offer had helped immensely to resolve the housing challenge they initially faced when they reported to the town last year to commence their official duties.

Speaking to the press at Gomoa Kyiren, the teachers described Mr Essel’s offer as a surprise package which came at a time they were desperately in need of it.

Nii Adjetey said: “Collectively, we regard Mr Essel’s offer as an excellent incentive which will go a long way to motive us to give off our best to support efforts by heads of Gomoa Adam/Kyiren Primary and Junior High schools and other teaching staff to promote basic education in the area.”

He assured Mr Essel and the people in the area of committed and selfless services during their stay and that they would continue to ask for God’s blessings and protection for the landlord to enable him to make more meaningful contributions to the development of the area.

He appealed to other well-to-do individuals in Gomoa West District and other parts of the country who could afford similar assistance to teachers to endeavour to do so as their contribution towards national development.

Mr Essel, on his part, said the offer was to support government’s efforts at making quality education accessible to every Ghanaian child, particularly children in the rural areas.

He advised teachers in the rural areas to co-operate with their respective school management committees, head teachers, circuit supervisors, chiefs, assemblymen, and religious leaders to ensure smooth, orderly and effective teaching activities at all times.

This, Mr Essel said, was the best strategy teachers could adopt to attain their avowed objective of producing decent, God-fearing, committed, and highly disciplined future leaders.
