The parents of a set of two-year old quadruplets are appealing for financial and material assistance to cater for the babies.
The father, Mr Collins Kwadwo Asiedu, 36, and mother, Grace Okwan, 32, both farmers at Adansi Swedru, near New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region, can hardly make ends meet.
They make meagre income from their maize and cassava farm.
Speaking in an interview, Mr Asiedu said the quadruplets, born on November 1, 2012, have reached the school-going age but were still home due to financial difficulties.
Mr Asiedu and his wife, who were accompanied by the former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa East, Mr Jewells J. Annan, said their priority was how to feed the family adding that the education of their children was a secondary matter.
He explained that the cost of feeding the quadruplets and their two other siblings was around GH¢ 2,315 a month.
He also said he could give the quadruplets, three girls and a boy, up for adoption to any well-to-do Ghanaian, as well as non-Ghanaians to alleviate the burden of feeding and providing for their education.
Mr Asiedu said maintaining the family had become a nightmare for him and that if no help came, the future of the quadruplets would be adversely affected.
He added that at the moment, the six children are fed once a day due to the outstanding debts he incurred from buying food on credit from vendors at Adansi-Swedru where they live.
