A Communication’s Consultant, Kathleen Addy has described calls for ladies filmed on the leaked Tamale sex tape to be banished from the town as unconstitutional.

“It is all fake anyway , we all know that we are not a puritanical society so stop faking it…,” Kathleen Addy stated.

The Chief of Tamale, Naa-Dakpema Dawuni Alhassan said all the ladies involved in the act should be banished from the Northern Regional capital to serve as a deterrent to others.

But speaking on Citi FM’s News Analysis Programme, The Big Issue, Ms. Addy said the Chief has no right to prescribe that the girls be banished since it is not in conformity with the Constitution.

“We have a certain character of picking on the weakest or the most vulnerable in the society and it’s so wrong on so many levels,”

“Somebody needs to remind them of exactly where they stand in the scheme of things. We are all under the law and the state, there are no kingdom laws here…Ultimately the constitution is the document that guides our existence as citizens of Ghana,” she said.

She also emphasized the need for the victims to be protected from constant victimization from the public.

Commenting on the same issue, Financial Analyst, Sydney Casley Hayford also condemned the criticism of the girls on the tape describing it as a “holier than thou attitude.”

He questioned why the women were singled out for punishment when the act was carried out with their consent.

He attributed the decision by the Chief of the town to Ghana’s primitive chieftaincy systems saying, “our chieftaincy systems seem to be primitive and these primitive things have to stop.”
