A family allowed their child to enjoy a car journey by sitting on the roof.
The footage, captured by 38-year-old Sun Hsiung, saw the vehicle travelling in the opposite direction to herself towards the northern Taiwanese city of Taoyuan.
Despite the busy traffic surrounding the main road, the youngster – who looks no older than seven – paraded a beaming smile across his face as his parents seemed oblivious to the surrounding dangers.
The eye-witness said: “It was impossible to see at first but then suddenly the car emerged from behind the truck with the young lad sitting happily on the roof as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
“His face was beaming and he clearly thought it was great fun, although I dread to think what would have happened if the car had braked, or if the lad had fallen.
“The car behind would have never been able to stop in time. I was really shocked that people could be so irresponsible in the middle of the city with a child.”
Police in Taiwan are said to be looking to identify the car and it’s driver, who is set to face the loss of their license and possible charges of reckless endangerment.
