Management of Citi FM called on the Ghana Police service on Thursday morning as part of efforts to deepen the media’s relationship with police and also support its operations.

Citi FM donated assorted items, including bags of rice, drinks and some other foodstuffs to the service as its personnel ramp up their operations to keep Ghanaians across the country safe over the Christmas period.

The delegation from Citi FM included the company’s Managing Director, Administrative personnel, sales manager and some members of the newsroom’s leadership.

The delegation took time to engage with some of the personnel who were in high spirits despite the expected increase in their workload over the next few weeks.

The Administrative Manager of Citi FM, Matthew Idun, expressed hope that Citi FM’s donation would give the police some encouragement to ensure that law and order prevail as 2017 winds down and pledged the company’s support down the line.

“This donation is for the good work we have seen from the police do of late. They have increased their numbers and increased the visibility… We want to come and just support them to play this important role for this country.”

The Police Service’s Director-General in Charge of Operations, COP George Akuffo Dampare received the donation on behalf of the service and lauded Citi FM for being a key partner in the Police Service’s work.

“Citi FM has been there for us all these years and has been supporting the police in the form of media engagement policing. The contribution of Citi FM in that regard has been awesome and what we have seen today is a demonstration of the fact that Citi FM wants to go beyond its traditional and core functions,” he said.
