Rotaract Clubs donate to Adenta, Madina schools to boost sanitation

The Rotaract Clubs of Accra East and Wisconsin International University College donated some Veronica Buckets, hand washing soaps, hand sanitizers, and drying towels to the Holy Rosary School in Adenta SDA and the Islamic Basic School in Madina.

This Project is aimed at promoting basic Education and Literacy as well as Water and Sanitation in basic schools-some of Rotary’s Areas of Focus.

President Elorm Mary Addo, President of the Rotaract Club of Accra East, in an interview reiterated the need for the donation and said it was to support the primary school in sustaining hygienic learning environment, to teach the pupils to observe personal hygiene and also inculcate in them the need to always wash their hands regularly in the right way.

The President of the Rotaract Club of Wisconsin International University College; President Ruth Oteng also added that the relevance of personal hygiene cannot be overemphasized especially in a time where most deaths are attributed to the poor hygienic condition.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Holy Rosary Catholic School in Adentan SDA, Madam Innocencia Afatsawoo expreesed appreciation for the kind gesture shown by these two clubs and also pledged that as usual they will take care of the items and make sure it is used for the purpose for which it was donated.

In a related interview, the Headmaster of the Islamic Basic School Mr. Sulemana, expressing his gratitude said they were happy to have been chosen to benefit from this kind gesture and further promised to keep the items in good condition and use them for the right purpose.

The Project Directors of the two Rotaract Clubs; Rotr. Yvonne Aseye Shiamatey and DRRE Andrews Ofosuhene were full of praise for all supporters of the project and said that the partnership to execute this project was a successful one. The two project directors indicated that they will be engaged in more joint community service projects in the coming years.
