Okey Bakassi to thrill at Night of 1018 Laughs

Nigerian comedians have been the toast of many lovers of comedy in the country, and come Saturday, August 2, at the Accra International Conference Centre, Onyegbule (a.k.a) Okey ‘Bakassi’ McAnthony, the Nigerian engineer turned comedian, will hit Accra during Night of 1018 Laughs and Music.

Other comedians on the bill include Bovi and Dan D’ Humurous. Highlife star, Nana Tuffour of Abeiku fame, Akwaboah and Wiyaala, will be in charge of music on the night.

Okey Bakassi, the seriously funny jester was born on October 23, 1969 and is the first of five children. His early education was at the Alvan Ikoku Demonstration School Imo State; the Mbaise Secondary School Imo State and the Federal Government College, Port Harcourt.

He holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the River State University of Science & Technology in Port Harcourt.

This engineer became a professional movie actor in 1994 after his national service. His unique talent, synergy and high level of professionalism has clearly distinguished him in the comedy industry.

As an actor and stand-up comedian, Okey Bakassi has played numerous comic roles, bringing laughter to many homes and hearts.

His strong scientific background backed by over 18 years of professional experience as  a comedian, actor and public speaker has exposed him to huge audiences around the world; USA, Germany, UK, Canada, Ghana, South Africa and the 36 States of Nigeria.
