Farmers in the country have been assured of good treatment from the government to enhance their production and growth ahead of the planting season.

Government has promised to partner with private sector and other industry players to provide farmers a chance to increase their yields in the light of unfriendly weather conditions.

In a speech read on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture at the Wynca Sunshine Demonstration Field Day in collaboration with the Ministry of Foods and Agriculture (MOFA) at Obawale a village near Koforidua Nkurakan in the Yilo Krobo District of the Eastern Region, Mr Kingsley Kuako Amoako the Deputy Director of crop services at MOFA expressed government’s delight with the achievement of Wynca Sunshine.

“The contribution of the private sector to the economy of Ghana and agriculture development, in particular, cannot be over emphasized. It is the conviction of the New Patriotic Party that the private sector should be given the needed space to contribute its quota to the economic development of the country and that’s why the government is doing everything to create an enabling environment with policies to support the modernization of agriculture and we are happy with the achievement of Wynca Sunshine for their innovative activities.”

He assured management of Wynca Sunshine of government’s partnership with the company to help farmers improve their yields.

He, however, told farmers to continue to keep faith with the government to address their needs saying, “I want all farmers to trust the government to address all challenges facing farmers especially small scale farmers in the country to reach full heights as we will explore all avenues to help you.”

Mr. James Zhang the marketing Manager of Wynca Sunshine in an interview with Citi News after the field day demonstration indicated that the objective of his company is to put smiles on faces of maize farmers in the country.

“We have spared no efforts to contribute to the development of Ghanaian Agriculture as well as to help the local farmers. Last year alone Wynca Sunshine donated 100,000 cedis to Ghana Agricultural Department on Farmers Day Celebrations to help local farmers and we also carried out our container Recycle activity which is a symbol of our determination of creating an environmentally friendly future for Ghanaians.”

Mr. James Zhang pleaded for a tax weaver from the government to help his company engage more social responsibility activities.

“It is our desire to do more for people in this country, this year we plan to bring spray drones to the local market which will greatly improve the efficiency of the agriculture industry and also introduce more of our latest product “best farmer” which is most effective in killing army worm of maize.”
