Parliament resumes today after recess

Members of Parliament are expected to be in Parliament today, Tuesday, for parliamentary business after being on recess for about a month.

The legislators are expected to receive 14 bills, 10 legislative instruments and 12 papers.

[contextly_sidebar id=”FtwxlsyK2yEcYxAWvYU9kp7uRfssha6V”]”The 2nd meeting of the 1st session of the 7th Parliament of the 4th Republic will open on Tuesday, 30th May, 2017. During this meeting, a number of activities are scheduled to take place. Fourteen (14) bills will be laid. Ten (10) instruments will be presented during this meeting. At least twelve (12) papers will be presented to the House,” a statement signed by Kate Addo, Acting Director of Public Affairs at Parliament stated.

Prior to the break, the MPs vetted and approved all the 110 Ministers and deputy Ministers appointed by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

They also approved the 2017 budget as well as amended some existing laws.

Parliament also debated the President’s State of the Nations Address.

The House further investigated a bribery allegation hit the Appointments Committee.
