Students of the Ghana Law School who boycotted their Criminal Procedure exams will have another chance to sit for the paper on Monday, June 5, 2017.
The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Makola students boycotted the Criminal Procedure paper some two weeks ago on May 18.
They contended that even though they were writing a paper on Criminal Procedure, two of the questions had absolutely nothing to do with the subject.
The situation was compounded by the fact that one question had been cancelled, reducing the options available to them as compulsory questions.
Some students who spoke to Citi News in confidence after the boycott feared mass failure over their decision and called for an investigation into the leakage and subsequent dissolution of the Independent Examination Board (IEB) for the leakage.
But credible information available to Citi News indicates that the General Legal Council (GLC), which exercises supervision over the IEB, has directed that fresh Criminal Procedure exams be conducted for the students.
Some of the students who boycotted the paper over a mix up in the questions also demanded a dissolution of the independent examination board.
According to them, the board was formed last year to ‘check the rampant leaks professional law papers, however, they claim that some of their colleagues bragged about getting access to the exam paper before the sitting.
