The Member of Parliament for the Savelugu Constituency in the Northern Region, Mohammed Abdul Samed Gunu, has donated several packets of roofing sheets to victims of a rainstorm that hit the Kanshegu community.

The disaster displaced hundreds of residents, and caused damage to properties worth thousands of cedis.

The Savelugu Legislator empathized with the victims and promised to help restore their loses.

He urged the police to intensify their patrols to avert any bloodbath following the announcement of names of the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives.

He reaffirmed his commitment to partner with the municipal assembly to provide decent accommodation for the police personnel.

The Savelugu-Nantong District Police Commander, ASP Peter Tawiah thanked the MP for his support. He said inadequate accommodation remained one of his command’s major challenges.

ASP Tawiah called for calm in the Savelugu Township where some angry NPP supporters went on rampage and vandalized party properties over Hajia Ayishetu Seidu’s nomination as DCE.
