Test for Ebola in Ghana proves negative

Reports indicate that the tests for the suspected deadly Ebola virus undertaken by the Nugochi Memorial Research Institute have proved negative.

An  American (name withheld) who had previously visited two of the countries severely affected by the disease, Guinea and Sierra Leone arrived in Ghana with a fever on Sunday.

According to the sources at the Ghana Health Service the Noguchi Memorial Research Institute completed its investigations on Monday.

The American, the doctor who treated him and two other nurses were also said to have been quarantined till the tests were completed.

The Ghana Health Service and the Ministry of Health are expected to announce the results soon.
