The new Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah, said a new robust anti-armed robbery strategy is being launched, to maintain the peace being enjoyed by inhabitants of the region.

DCOP Ken Yeboah thus warned all perpetrators of crime in the region, to desist from engaging in criminal activities.

The immediate past Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, earned the accolade “Commander One” following his ability to rid the region of all criminals.

DCOP Ken Yeboah, who takes over from him, said “my vision is to continue the good work and the solid foundation laid by my predecessor in the fight against violent crime.”

DCOP Ken Yeboah was speaking to the media in the region on his vision as the Regional Police Commander.

He noted that, “my main focus will be on the reduction of armed robbery and violent crime on our highways, streets and communities to the barest minimum.”

He revealed plans of “intensifying our foot and mobile patrols day and night in the city, on our highways and feeder roads and support the neighborhood watch concept. In addition, we are going to improve the management of traffic in the city and increase snap checks.”

DCOP Ken Yeboah said, “we will not tolerate land guards and macho men who take the law into their own hands and intimidate innocent law abiding citizens in the region because of group dominance”, adding that “no political color, hence no politician will influence my administration.”

He called on Nananom [Chiefs] and other stakeholders, to collaborate in fighting crime and ensuring law and order in the region.
