The National Executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it will hold Flagbearer aspirants responsible for any unruly behaviour by their supporters.

According to the executive, the aspirants must ensure that their campaigns are devoid of insults to prevent divisions within the party.

The General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. Kwabena Agyepong spoke to Citi News to reiterate the stance of the NPP national executive.

He said, “I just want to re-emphasize this to the hearing of all here and also to all aspirants. We will hold them responsible for the behaviour of their supporters, their agents and their spokespersons and we are very serious about this.”

He went on to explain that the NPP are ready to embrace and portray the values and virtues that they believe in, and will not accept otherwise from any aspirant or supporting member.

“We should conduct ourselves in a way that will make the party more attractive to the Ghanaian, a way that will revive the confidence of the people of Ghana in us to run a democratic country and also bring about their development. Because it is important and incumbent on us considering the problems that we face as a country, to work hard to ensure that we can recapture power and redeem the people of Ghana from an incompetent NDC administration,” he added.
