The Head Coach of Ghana’s Senior National team, the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah has stated his commitment to continue working with the team despite calls by some Ghanaians for his resignation.

The Black Stars performed poorly at the 2014 edition of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil after exiting the competition in the first round.

Ghana’s particiation in the World Cup was rocked with a number of scandals with one leading to expulsion of two of the teams key players, Sulley Muntari and Kevin Prince Boateng.

The two were said to have shown disrespect to the coach and other members of the management team but many Ghanaians blame the coach for failing to control the team.

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday on his future with the team, he said “I’m determined to continue working with the team.”

GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi, also announced the FA’s decision to retain Appiah.

According to him the decision was taken by the FA’s Executive Committee.

Nyantakyi said Appiah’s immediate task would be to rebuild the Black Stars team and qualify for the African Cup of Nations tournament in Morrocco.
