Nana Addo to chair first cabinet meeting, budget on the agenda

President Nana Akufo-Addo will today [Thursday] chair his first cabinet meeting. The meeting will include all Ministers of State who have been approved by Parliament and those yet to be.

According to sources, the preparation of the budget which is expected to be read in March 2017 and other issues concerning the economy will be on the agenda.

The President returned from the AU summit in Addis Ababa, Ethopia, yesterday [Wednesday] and is expected to be briefed on happenings during his absence.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has already sworn in 12 of the 36 persons he nominated as ministers for various portfolios after their approval by Parliament’s Appointments Committee.

The vetting of his remaining ministerial nominees by Parliament’s Appointment’s committee is currently ongoing.
