The Black Stars have returned home from Brazil after their first round exit in the 2014 World Cup.
The team touched down at about 2pm GMT on Sunday 29th June but there were no usual cheers and crowds to welcome them back and the players were even on the quiet as they were not too eager to speak to the press.
Rather, they quickly boarded the team bus and departed for their hotel.
However, captain Asamoah Gyan spoke to the press and apologised to fans for the displays of the team in Brazil that were not good enough to give them a second round place.
The contingent that arrived at the Kotoka International Airport had about 17 players of the original 23-man team.
While Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng had already been expelled from the team in Brazil for disciplinary reasons, Adam Kwarasey, Michael Essien, Christian Atsu, and Albert Adomah went straight to their European bases.
Ghana failed to record a single win in Group G from the three matches played against the United States, Germany and Portugal.
The run in Brazil was blighted by player demands for their appearance fees and the eventual airlifting of 3 million US Dollars to resolve the issue and alleged altercation between Sulley Muntari and a member of the Black Stars Management Committee.
Meanwhile, some supporters have also arrived in Accra. They included some government officials, officials of the headline sponsor of the Black Stars, GNPC, and ambassadors for Ghana’s campaign in the World Cup.
