Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, flagbearer aspirant of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appealed to members of the party to allow the National Executives to run its affairs.

He said: “Per the NPP’s constitution, the National Executives are the mandatory body who are to run affairs of the party and there should no interference in their work by any member.”

A statement signed by Mr Asamoah-Boateng expressed worry about the growing insecurity and negative developments in the NPP.

The statement urged party faithful to be decorous in their utterances to foster unity and bring about the much-needed peace since the NPP has an election to prosecute after the selection of a flagbearer.

It said the peaceful disposition of the people of Ghana should not be taken for granted in the midst of the hardships the Mahama-led government is taking Ghanaians through.

The statement urged members of the party to listen to the cries of the millions of NPP faithful, supporters and sympathisers at the grassroots and discontinue the in-fighting on the airwaves and on social media.

It said Ghanaians needs the NPP to remain focused and offer alternative solutions to make living less distressful for them, adding, “we will not be forgiven if we fail Ghanaians this time around.”

“I humbly and respectfully call for immediate ceasefire between those whose activities and utterances are derailing the strenuous efforts of the party leadership, I hope and firmly believe that the NPP will emerge stronger, more united and more inspiring to win Election 2016.
