As part of efforts to ensure a safe and sound Christmas festivities in the Ashaiman Municipality, the Ashaiman District Police Commander, DSP Seth Tay says the Ashaiman Division has adopted proactive measures to ensure an incident and crime free Christmas.

He said the District Police have intensified day and night patrols in the municipality to clamp down on suspicious characters who would create problems for peace loving members of the public.

Speaking in an interview with Citi News, DSP Tay noted that, the Division has also deployed the use of motorcycles for its day and night patrols.

“We as a team have adopted a more proactive way of combating crime in the area since policing now has changed from the policing of old, “he noted.

He said a special Christmas duty schedule have been prepared to ensure that no incident is recorded in Ashaiman and its surrounding areas during the Christmas festivities.

“We have prepared a special Christmas plan to ensure that we deal promptly with any incident that would be recorded during the season”

DSP Tay further advised residents to ensure they are on guard at all times and never take their personal safety and security for granted.

He noted that “I will advise residents to ensure that there is always someone at home to take care of the home whilst they are away for all night services this festive season”

He assured the people of Ashaiman not to worry and have full confidence in the police as they are on 24-hour standby to ensure their safety adding that the police hotlines must always be on top of their minds since the police rely more on information from the public.
