Ahead of their crucial game against Portugal on Thursday, assistant coach of the Black Stars, Maxwell Konadu, has pointed out that they will capitalise on the lack of fitness of Selecao captain Cristiano Ronaldo.

He believes Ronaldo’s slow start to the tournament so far will play into the hands of the Black Stars.

“We know that he is the best player in the world but he has not shown that yet in the world cup, he hasn’t even played up to 60 percent of the Ronaldo we know.

“Based on this we will also capitalize on the situation of his fitness and try to work the situation in our favour,”he said.

Ronaldo has played through a tendinitis injury all through the group stages but still managed to provide the decisive cross that fetched his team the equalizer in the 2-2 draw against the United States.

The Estadio Nacional in Brasilia will host the game which kicks off at 16:00GMT
