Over 1,500 jobs to be created through FDIs

1,504 jobs are expected to be created in Ghana through registered Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects in the third quarter of 2016.

This figure is about 75 percent lower than the previous year where 5,993 jobs were created through FDIs.
According to the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), about 85 percent of the jobs created will go to Ghanaians while the remaining will go to foreigners.

1,290 jobs are to go to Ghanaians while 214 will go to expatriates.

The services sector is expected to gain the biggest chunk of this figure while the agric sector will record nothing.

The agric sector however in the previous year  (2015) during the third quarter employed 95 people.

Meanwhile the Building and Construction Industry is expected to employ 350 people.

The Export and Trade sector is expected to employ 21 people and General Trading 149 people.

Liaison sector 43 people, manufacturing sector 382 people and Services sector 509 people.
