A former Deputy Minister of Health in the erstwhile Kuffour’s administration, Abraham Dwuma Odoom, has intensified his campaign to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti-Morkwa constituency in the Central Region.

Mr. Dwuma Odoom, who also served as a Deputy Local Government Minister, has on three occasions tried to represent the area in parliament.

The 63-year old accountant who hails from Ayaasi, seems to be convinced of winning the predominantly NDC seat for the first time in the upcoming election.

In an interview with citifmonline.com, Mr. Dwuma Odoom, the NPP parliamentary candidate, said the governing NDC has failed the constituents for the past twenty years hence his call for change.

“The incumbent MP Ato Amoah, and his NDC party have deceived the people of Twifo Atti-Morkwa on the deteriorated Twifo Praso Bridge for the past years, and I believe electorates would this year vote for me and Nana Akuffo Addo.” he posited.

He said his leadership dream is to create jobs for the unemployed youth in the farming constituency.

“The campaign message is couched “ODUMATIZER” where am looking at expansion of infrastructure, creation of jobs, creation of wealth and political inclusiveness to curb the unemployment rate in the constituency,” he stated.

Mr. Dwuma Odoom, who was in 2004 adjudged the best District Chief Executive in Ghana for the then Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District Assembly, is noted for the electrification of the area, the Twifo Praso nursing training school, upgrading of the Praso hospital, and a new secondary school in the area.

As the aspiring Member of Parliament, Mr. Dwuma Odoom has for the past one year constructed 26 boreholes and 20 hand-dug-wells across the constituency.

Some of beneficiary communities include Mampong, Kenkuase, Danyase, Twensukoda, Abenaso, Mampehia, Akutuase, Akorakese Adjetey camp, no. 8 village among others.

He also built 2 major bridges at Akloman and Adugya to help farmers send both cash crop and food stuffs to the market without any stress.

Mr. Dwuma Odoom said he is optimistic of winning the Twifo Atti-Morkwa parliamentary seat by securing 65 percent of the valid votes cast.

Mr. Dwuma Odoom is contesting the incumbent NDC MP Samuel Ato Amoah, who is seeking re-election. The Twifo Atti-Morkwa constituency of the central region has 96 polling stations with over 50,000 registered voters.
