Gov’t offers GHC 100,000 bounty for killers of Bimbilla Overlord

Government has announced a financial package of GHC 100,000 to be awarded to anybody who can provide information leading to the arrest of the murderers of the Overlord of Bimbilla Naa Andani on Thursday.

There were reports of renewed sporadic gunshots in Bimbila Township on Thursday which led to the murder of Naa Andani and three others.

A statement signed by the Information Minister, Mahama Ayariga condemned the act adding that security has been beefed up in the area to prevent any reprisal attacks.

 Below is the full statement

GOVERNMENT OFFERS GHC 100,000 FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST OF THE MURDERERS OF THE OVERLORD OF BIMBILLA.

Government has learnt with deepest regret the gruesome murder of the Overlord of Bimbilla Naa Andani and three others on Thursday.

“This is a dastardly and despicable crime that must be condemned in the strongest terms.

The Government wishes to express its deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the Overlord and the other victims.

Our security agencies have already started investigations into this heinous crime and every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice. We call on the citiens of the area especially in Bimbilla, to remain calm.

We have beefed up security in the area to ensure law and order and the protection of lives andproperty.

A financial package of GHc 100,000 will be awarded to anybody who provides information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators of this act.
