President John Mahama will from Tuesday, October 25, begin a five day campaign tour of the Eastern Region to appeal to electorates ahead of the 2016 December polls.

President Mahama who is seeking a second term in office ended his Volta Region campaign last week.

[contextly_sidebar id=”9CeHAxmmOBg8x3CEEIGXqbUnLMGMei4H”]He is expected to tour more than 24 constituencies and introduce the various National Democratic congress (NDC) parliamentary candidates to residents.

According to the NDC’s Eastern Regional Secretary, Mark Oliver Kevor, all is set for the arrival of the president.

“The people are very expectant; the expectations were that the President would arrive today so all the constituencies are clamoring for the presence of the president in their constituency but because of the time and strategy he would be able to visit just about 25 constituencies out of 33 for the first phase of his visit.”

He noted that the President would visit the rest of the constituencies in the next phase of his campaign tour.

“A lot has been done in the Eastern Region; the president is talking about changing lives transforming Ghana. He had come round to do an accounting to the people tour where he had shown to the people what he had done for them. He is here again to tell us what he has done so far and what he expects to do when he is elected again. We are very sure that it would boast the agenda 50/50 target,” Kevor added.

Mahama has so far campaigned campaigned in the Western, Central and the Greater Accra Regions.
