Ghana drops to 45th place in FIFA Ranking

Ghana has slipped two places to occupy the 45^th position in the latest world ranking released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), for the month of October.

The Black Stars’ drop was accounted to the 0-0 draw with the Cranes of Uganda at the Tamale stadium in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as well as an international friendly with South Africa, which ended 1-1 in Durban.

Ghana, initially rated 43^rd dropped two places with 628 points accumulated to lie behind defending champions Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal, Algeria and Tunisia who are placed 31^st, 37^th, Algeria 35^th Tunisia 38^th respectively in the globe.

Argentina still maintained their spot on top with 1621 points while Germany and Brazil have moved to the second and third positions respectively.

Ghana is ranked the fifth in the continent.

However, Ghana’s group opponents at the AFCON, Egypt, have been ranked 46^th in the world, just behind Ghana while Mali is placed 58^th in the world.
