The United States government has donated education and sporting materials worth 40,000 US Dollars to the Gnani primary school in the Yendi district of the Northern Region.

The donation comprised school uniforms, exercise books, school bags, foot wears, laptops, several cartons of bottle water and footballs.

US Ambassador to Ghana,  Gene Cretz said education remained one of the topmost priorities of the US government, hence the donation for the upkeep of students there.

He advised parents to invest in their children’s education to make them productive citizens in future.

He said, “Education is key in future and the United States care very much about the education of the Ghanaian people.”

Deputy Minister for education, Alex Kyeremeh thanked the US government for its continuous support to the education sector.

According to him, the US government’s donor support towards improving the nation’s standard of education could not be underestimated.

Mr. Kyeremeh pleaded with the school authorities to use the donation for its intended purposes.
