Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo could miss the rest of the tournament after concerns over his fitness were heightened on Wednesday.

The player limped out of training early with a heavily-strapped knee and has left the team wondering if he would be ready to play against the United States on Sunday and possibly Ghana on the 26th of June.

Ronaldo had earlier missed two of Portugal’s three pre-tournament friendly due to knee and thigh injuries and has not been able to train properly during the competition.

Portugal are currently bottom of Group G with zero points after they were trashed 4-0 by Germany on Monday 16th June in the opening round of matches and they face the US for the possibility of staying longer in the competition.
