The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the December 7 general election, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has left Ghana for a 4-day private trip to Germany and the United Kingdom.

Nana Akufo-Addo left Accra Thursday night October 13, and he is expected to return to Ghana on October 18, to commence a four-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region.

A statement issued by Eugene Arhin, Press Secretary to Nana Akufo-Addo, indicated that NPP presidential candidate is expected to begin the Ashanti regional tour on Wednesday, October 19.

The NPP presidential candidate embarks on the trip after the party’s 2016 manifesto launch and weeks of marathon campaigns across the country.

He left Thursday evening after visiting the Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency in Greater Accra to woo the electorate to vote for him in the December 7 poll.

Vote out Mahama to secure your future –Nana Addo tells students

Nana Akufo-Addo has entreated Ghanaian students to vote out President John Dramani Mahama and bring into power, the opposition NPP to secure their future.

He said students have no future under President Mahama because of the mismanagement and collapse of the economy by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This, according to the NPP presidential candidate, has resulted in increasing youth unemployment in the country with the prospect of students completing school and getting jobs being hugely compromised by the Mahama administration.

“What I am trying to leave with you is that four more years of John Dramani Mahama will mean you that you have no future to look up to,” Nana Akufo-Addo reiterated.

Addressing hundreds of students today [Thursday] at the Pentecost University College, as part of his campaign tour of the Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency in the Greater Accra Region, the NPP presidential candidate said a second four-year for President Mahama means student would have jobs when they leave school.

“The responsibility for you (students) is not about tomorrow, it is about today. That, together, all of us will make sure that the threat to our future that Mahama represents is removed in December, once and for all, so we can return our country onto the path of progress and prosperity,” Nana Akufo-Addo told the students.

He bemoaned that Ghana’s economy has systematically shrunk, resulting in high levels of unemployment, rising costs of living, widespread hardships and suffering, and the creation of a future of hopelessness for the millions of Ghanaian youth.
