The Chairman of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association, Mr. Charles Offei Palm says he and his members are satisfied with the directive given by the health minister concerning the nine vehicles purchased for the board and management of the hospital.

“I’m happy it has been cleared and we have been vindicated. We had no intention of punishing somebody. We just want the law to be respected. Nobody is above the law in Ghana. We have rules and regulations that have to be followed,” he said.

At the Meet the Press series on Tuesday, June 17 2014, the outgoing health minister, Ms Sherry Ayitey asked the board to either pay for the vehicles within a seven year period or return them.

The senior staff association in a petition to President Mahama called for an investigation into the purchase of the vehicles among others.

Mr. Palm went on to express his views that no one should do things by their own will, contrary to what the law has established. He expressed satisfaction.

He concluded by saying, “We are happy that it has been said that the IGF should be used for patient’s care and not to be used for other things. Yesterday, we were giving a response from the presidency that they have acknowledged our letter of thanks. His Excellency has acknowledges the petitions and wishes to inform us that our request is being given urgent attention. So it is our belief and hope that the President will act on the rest as soon as possible.”
