The Muslim community has organized special prayers for rains in the Northern Region.

This is to curtail drought in that part of the country which is likely to affect the nation’s food security.

Already there are reports of increment in food prices in the Northern Regional capital Tamale.

Northern Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Abubakari Abdul Salam led the prayer at the Tamale Central Mosque which was replicated in other parts of the region.

After collectively reciting the Holy Qur’an, the Northern Regional Chief Imam pleaded for Allah’s showers of blessing to ensure bumper harvest this year.

Alhaji Abubakari Abdul Salam appealed to Allah to salvage the nation’s ailing economy.

By extension, the Muslim community prayed for the senior national team, the Black Stars to lift the trophy at the ongoing World Cup tournament in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
