The Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) has debunked media reports suggesting that the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has halted  the ECG private sector participation process.

According to the authority, the publication is untrue since MiDA has not received any such directive from the office of the Chief of Staff.

“MiDA wishes to state categorically that these comments are untrue and inaccurate,” a statement copied to Citi Business News indicated.

It pointed out that the publication, which was attributed to the Secretary of the ECG Senior Staff Association, Patrick Binyemi was untrue since the process for the ECG Private Sector Participation is ongoing.

The statement however explained that MiDA is currently in a discussion with the Chief of Staff, the Public Utility Workers Union  (PUWU) of ECG, and ECG management

“Indeed, under the auspices of the Chief of Staff , MiDA is participating in ongoing discussion with the public Utility Workers Union  (PUWU) of ECG and ECG management in respect of their concerns regarding the ECG Private Sector Participation,” it clarified, adding that  “as these discussions are ongoing, MiDA  is not in a position to disclose details at this time”.

According to the authority, no directive to halt its activities in respect of the ECG Private Sector Participation has been given and no such directive was discussed at the last meeting held at the Flagstaff House,  in Accra.
