FCP Premier League wrap: Kotoko extend lead as Chelsea trash Lions

kotoko-61Asante Kotoko went 12 points clear at the top of the First Capital Plus Premier League with a 1-0 win over Amidaus Professionals at the Baba Yara Stadium.

 The Reds took the lead in the second half through forward Seidu Bancey and that was enough to hand them another victory to push them up to 43 points.
Hearts of Oak who drew goalless at home with Dwarfs to leave them 12 points behind Kotoko.
The Phobians could not open the visitors up for the breakthrough and the result was not pleasing to their few fans who were at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Dwarfs now have 17 points and are 15th on the log.
Berekum Chelsea were the round’s biggest winners as they beat Heart of Lions by three goals to zero.
Benjamin Boateng, Jackson Owusu and Dennis Tetteh all scored for the Blues to move them to 11th on the log with 23 points.
Lions slip to 4th with 27 points.
Richard Yamoah scored a late goal for Hasaacas as they beat AshGold by two goals to one at the Essipong Stadium.
The home side had taken the lead in the first half through Frederick Quayson but Jospeh Ato Bissah pulled the Miners but captain of Hasaacas, Yamoah, struck close to the end of the match to give the home side three points to move them to 6th on 26 points.
AshGold now lie 5th on 27 points from 18 matches.
Inter Allies got another rare win after they pipped King Faisal by a lone goal at the Tema Stadium.
Fatau Abdul Shaffiu got the goal for the home side but despite remaining 16th on the log, they now have 16 points; just a point behind Dwarfs.
Faisal fall to 8th with 25 points after the round of matches.
 Wa All Stars were held to a 1-1 home draw by Aduana Stars.
Midfielder Paul Asare DeVries put the home side ahead  in the first half but they were pegged back by midfielder Emmanuel Akuoko in the second.
All Stars now have 25 points while Aduana remain 14th on the table with 20 points.
 Medeama travelled to New Edubiase to win by a lone goal.
Forward Kabiru Imoro scored the winner to lift the Yellow and Mauves to 7th on the table with 26 points while New Edubiase fall to 10th on 24 points.
 Noah Martey’s strike in the second half for Bechem United handed them a 1-0 win over Liberty Professionals.
 Bechem move to 3rd with 27 points and Liberty slip to 13th with 20 points.
